Seven Chances
Buster Keaton revisited.Different musical setting this time i.e. only one musician and she played keyboard - despite a real piano standing across the room. But, hey, she managed to imitate e.g. organs. Actually, she managed something greater: she upgraded the whole movie from fine to very good.
The story is simple, definitely less complicated or meaningful than that of
The Three Ages. Yet, somehow she made it more entertaining - mostly by incorporating various well-known musical themes into the soundtrack. Some that I recognised and remembered:
Love Story,
Conquest of Paradise,
Koziołek Matołek, Abba's
Money Money,
W małym kinie; she even put Charlie Chaplin's classic tunes [into Buster Keaton's film] - that is perverse! And I loved it.
Stay tuned!
